First and foremost, do not touch the pimples! Squeezing pimples out leads to more bacterial infection thereby causing more damage to the skin.
Know your skin type: Pimples occur more commonly in oily skin types. In such patients, using the right moisturizers and sunscreen are of utmost importance. Most sunscreens are oil based, these will lead to more acne eruptions.
Clean ups are a big no-no: Washing your face two or three times a day is sufficient. Excessive cleansing stresses the skin and leads to more breakouts.
Diet: Studies suggest a positive relation between the consumption of high glycemic index foods and acne breakouts. Include more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and cut
down on fries, cola drinks, full fat milk and its products and chocolates!
Hormonal check up: Incase your acne are not responding to treatment, your doctor might suggest you to get your hormones tested. Increased Testosterone leads to pimples.
Medication history: Sometimes when you are on certain medications (steroids, hormonal treatment, treatment for tuberculosis etc.) for a long period of time, it can lead to acne like eruptions.
